About Inks & Media
|

Our Archival Pigment Inks - Giclée prints are made using a continuous stream of millions of droplets of pigment inks. Our inks are water-based and have been manufactured to the highest quality standards and optimized for fine art reproduction to achieve rich color as well as exceptional long-life. Anyone who works with traditional four-color printing knows the frustration of compromising the full range of color in your original image. And trying to match specific colors is often impossible. Our process utilizes Hexachrome six-color print technology which dramatically improves the color range, or gamut, compared to traditional four-color printing. While not all colors are reproducible, Hexachrome greatly increases the realism, accuracy and intensity of color, making it easier to match original artwork.
- Your prints can be reproduced on a variety of acid-free, pounded or smooth, fine art watercolor and printmaking papers, cotton duck canvas, rice paper and photographic papers.
- We are proud to offer premium, imported and domestic papers that have been carefully selected for their esthetics and long life expectancy. All are substantial weights that will give your editions the look and feel of originals. Don't be misled by inferior, low-cost wood-fiber substitutions.
- The combination of our superior papers and inks has been extensively tested by the
Wilhelm Imaging Research Center. They found that, using proper care and average gallery lighting, these prints can retain their image quality for well over 100 years and in some cases 200-300 years. As an additional option, an ultraviolet light protective coating is applied to further protect the print. As with any fine art, Giclée prints should be displayed in subdued room light.
